These are photos of my mother's side of the family. Her parents, and grandparents. To keep it all straight:

My mom is Sheila. Her only brother is Marc (my Uncle).
Their parents are Gilbert Fisher and Ethyle Zeigman
Gilly's parents are Nat and Goldie Fisher
Ethyle's parents are Maurice and May Stearman
Gilly remarried Evelyn, Ethyle remarried "Ziggy" Bill Zeigman

The Fisher family were from Philadelphia, but Grandpa Gilbert was born In Norfolk, Va. I don't know why his mom and Dad were there. His grandfather on his mother's side was born in Russia but his family (the Lipshultz family) had emigrated to Manchester, England where many relatives had gone before. It was a mill town and work was plentiful, and his granddad was a master tailor, who when he came to Washington, DC tailor suits for members of congress and the Supreme Court. I remember Gilbert coming up to my school on lunch hour wearing "hot" looking suits! He was a football star and all the girls were jealous that he was coming to see me. On my side of the family, I of course was born in Wash., DC, but Bubbe, my mother was native born in Brooklyn. Her parents had emigrated from Poland. My father (Zayde) was born in Russia in a small "shetl" in the Ukraine, near Chernobyl. His father, my Zadie came to America before his wife and 6 sons, landing in Baltimore, but moving to DC because he was a master cabinet maker and heard there was no one to make "kosher coffins" for Jewish burials in DC and he could get work. He brought his family over about a year later when my father was 10. There is much more to the story and I promise I will write it soon.
