Friday, Sept. 3rd 2010, Max was t-boned in Buttonwillow. We were six hours from home and three hours from our destination, out on I-5.

We were going to turn left out of a travel stop after getting Taco Bell, when we met a semi wanting to turn right into our lot. He needed to swing wide, so he was waiting for us to pull out. A Chevy Tahoe decided to go around the semi by passing him in the middle "Turn Only", yellow dosh-and-lined lane and slammed into our front, driver's side wheel as we pulled out from the semi's nose.

If we had been less cautious, he would have hit the driver's door and we would have been much worse off. We got lucky, but it still hurt - both physically and emotionally.
