Hello Dolly Cake

My mother has been making this as long as I can remember and I never get tired of it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk

Directions:

  1. Melt the butter and put it in the bottom of a 9-inch square pan
  2. Layer the graham crackers, coconut, chocolate chips, and walnuts in the order listed above
  3. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top
  4. Bake at 350° F for 30 minutes
  5. Cut it into 1 inch squares when cooled

  2. I just had this dessert a few weeks ago. It was one of the best ever. I can’t wait to make one, I know it will become a family fave.

  3. My mother-in-law made this more than 40 years ago. Recipe was lost, she kept everything in her head and also had baking secrets. Besides that, I was busy raising 7 children.Recently remembered the cake/bars. I knew it would be on the inter-net. Thank you, Doug.

  4. Sounds sinfully wonderful! I’ll try it and let you know what I think. Thanks, Doug!

    • Thanks Doug, for being so kind to post the recipe… Anne said she was going to look at the recipe I posted. I said, I’m senile, I didn’t post the recipe…

      Thanks again…
      Love you,
      Mom
