Last night I hooked up the rest of the game systems, including Nicole’s old NES. For the first time I briefly played Super Mario World on the NES. This morning I tried all the Atari Carts, including some I had never played but just picked up at a thrift store. Four were dead but the only one of those I missed was Video Pinball.

Bermuda Triangle is a bad game.

I have this new projector that is capable of HDTV resolutions. I’m moving where all the A/V stuff lives and that also means moving the game systems. First to hook up is the Atari 2600 and of course I had to test it with a little Yar’s Revenge. Projector capable of displaying better than the current generation of video game systems and I use it to play Atari.

I just finished level 9 of the exercise bike. On to level 10.

There still a little fine tuning on position and such, but the picture is so beautiful, and it’s just projecting on the wall! DVDs look wonderful and you can see stuff even inthe dark scenes. Video games are made to look not as good in some ways now in that it is so sharp you can see everything that a normal television hides.

And… It can be watched without all the lights out in the room!

At least for now we are done with the office. The floor is still unpainted concrete but it’s nicer looking and functional again. Later we’ll pull everything out again and put in a floating floor. There was an article in This Old House that made it look pretty easy. It’s also been re-arranged to make more space. Though we haven’t found a home for everything that was in the office yet.

The rest of the stuff is piled in the tv room so Dar can start to pack and move her stuff.

This morning I was up early and didn’t have to go to the gym so I decided to hook up the Gamecube to the small tv (the projector is busted). I figured it was about time I tried those bargain bin games I picked up in the past 9 months.

First up was Minority Report – This game is pretty boring. You have to run in and beat up minions. You can’t go through the door to the next area until you have defeated every single one. Why are all these minions waiting to beat you up? That would meant hey are all in on the crime. A better game would be to figure out where you need to go based on clues and then have to travel there in the ammount of time you have before the crime is committed. I put my copy up for sale on half.com this morning.

Next was Sphinx & The Cursed Mummy – This game is actually pretty good so far. It’s a puzzle/platform game. It looks good, it controls fairly well, the animation is good. I’ll be playing this one again. Looks like it got overlooked during a holiday release season unfortunately.

When I was ripping out the carpet in the computer room and moving everything around I felt fine. The night while my body was resting it was also responding to all the mold and dust in my system and clogging my allergies. Now it’s all draining.

On the bright side, did I mention I’m up to the maintenance (max) allergy shot dosage?

I didn’t think I was goign to make it to the end of my cycle today. My legs were tired and I wanted to stop, but I just kept telling myself to go and see how it turns out. I finished level 8… barely.

I’ve been wanting to see this for awhile to find out why it was so popular. The main characters aren’t believable stoners, and they don’t play morons very well. The surrounding characters are all more interesting to watch than they are so the movie ends up being a loosely tied together set of skits that have some funny parts but mostly are missing the funny. It’s kind of like Road Trip in that regard (the missing the funny part).

Some attraction I think this had for people was that it was occasionally funny since it came out in a traditional comedy dought at the end of the year and people were up for any comedy. I think the real attraction is because it seems to be a showcase for hot babes.

Oh yeah. I remember while watching it that I thought they were trying to be like Beavis and Butthead and then I checked the imdb and found that the movie was based on a rejected idea for the Beavis & Butthead movie.
