Home Depot for your time wasting needs

Yesterday Nicole and I went to Home Depot in Watsonville to get a new medicine cabinet for Dar’s bathroom. We find the medicine cabinets and even find one we like. Then we find that they don’t have any so we go to the customer service desk to special order it.

The CS desk says they need the SKU# and start to call someone. Knowing it’ll take awhile for someone to get back there I tell them I’ll get it. I return a few minutes later with the SKU and they look it up. The computer reports that they have two of them in stock and so they can’t order it.

They call someone to go look for them and he then goes walking out the front door. We ask where he will be. They said “Here (CS desk) or there (cabinet aisle).” I figure we should wait by the cabinet aisle since then if he makes it there but not back to the CS desk we’ll still have seen him. After about 10 minutes, during which time I talked to Dar to confirm the selection, we go back up front to say he never showed.

They call him again and this time he goes back. After 5 minutes he comes back and says he can’t find any. He also says that he’s not a kitchen & bath guy but is normally the appliance guy. Glad they have enough people and give them the training they need.

So 1.5 hours wasted and no cabinet. We go home and I try to find it on-line. Home Depot’s site doesn’t offer it on-line or even show it exists. The manufacturer says it is exclusively sold at Home Depot.
