Star Wars!

There are probably spoilers contained within…

I saw it at the 12:01AM show, and the 5 regular shows the next day starting at 9AM. The first show was pretty good, but felt lacking in a number of areas. When I saw it the next morning with the small non-rowdy audience it was a MUCH better movie! The rowdy crowds distract enough to make it not so good. That was confiirmed later in the day when it was a large rowdy audience again (7PM show).

I liked how the movie led the way to episode 4. At the same time it finally showed how sad Anakin’s character is. He’s so powerful but he will remain under the emperor’s thumb with the promise of the power he wants always in front of him to keep him doing the emperor’s bidding.

And then him telling Padme that love can’t save her when that’s exactly what would have saved her. Fear of losing her drove him to seek power and that’s what led to her death.

I liked Obi-Wan picking up Anakin’s lightsaber which would later be given to Luke. I liked Captain Antilles flying his ship that we would see in episode 4.

I liked it a lot! I want to see it again in digital so I can see what extra scenes were done.

So much was done

stuff stuff stuff. Well we got everything together and the bbq went off almost exactly as planned. Thanks to those who were there! The weather was mild with a nice breeze and the food was good! If it ever happens again we hire people to run the show since the only down side is we didn’t get enough time to hang out with our guests.

I still have to put the medicine cabinet and towel rack in Dar’s bathroom. Or yeah and the humidity sensing exhaust fan too.

So! Much! To! Do!

And it wouldn’t be so bad if I weren’t seeing Star Wars all day Thursday, but I am.

Make food, get car, get haircut, put up the light and cabinet and towel rack in Dar’s bathroom, get my sister, get more stuff, move stuff around, set up stuff, stuff stuff, install light stuff, drill stuff, pick up stuff, wack stuff, make free stuff, cook stuff, eat stuff, clean up stuff, explode.

Industrious weekend (house wise)

  • Removed the rest of the master bedroom carpet
  • Got a new light for Darlene’s bathroom
  • Got a new mirror/cabinet for Darlene’s bathroom
  • Got a towell rack for Darlene’s bathroom (still have to install all 3)
  • Pulled up all the bricks in the planters in front
  • Got a load of fill dirt – Thanks to Joel and Cathi for the use of their truck
  • Unloaded all the fill dirt
  • Used the bricks as a border in front
  • Finally removed the floor heater
  • Made 2 dump runs to get rid of the floor heater and the carpet (carpet & foam dumping is only $4/load!)

    The floor heater is gone!

The old disconnected floor heater is finally out of the hole. I had to crawl back under the house today to disconnect one more copper wire and to flatten some metal I had tried prying in an attempt to remove one of the screws. Then I had to remove the metal frame in the wall opening (the hole goes through a wall) and THEN we were able to lift it out. YAY!

Tomorrow it goes to the dump. Now we just need to get the floor guy out here to fix the hole in the floor.

    Property suckiness!

The Hulsey property next to ours has been put on the market with a target towards contractors who might want to split up the property and build multiple units. They have 18000 sq. ft. so they could easily put 4 houses on there.

We need to get out of here fast or figure out some other way to deal. Otherwise we’re going to be hemmed in on both sides by large homes on tiny lots.

    More destruction

Last night we pulled the carpet from 2/3 of the master bedroom. That used to be high quality carpet and I learned that then the installation isn’t too old that it’s pretty easy to remove carpet tack strips in mostly one piece. The floors in the master bedroom are in really good shape over all.

Tonight We’ll finish the removal. The floor guy should come today to remove the floor heater (not that the floor has its own heater, but the heater is sunken in to the floor). Then he can assess what he needs to do for repairs.

What kind of killer am I?

    Samurai

    You are a Samurai.
You are full of honour and value respect. You
are not really the stereotypical hero, but you
do fight for good. Just in your own way. For
you, it is most certainly okay to kill an evil
person, if it is for justice and peace. You
also don’t belive in mourning all the time and
think that once you’ve hit a bad stage in life
you just have to get up again. It’s pointless
to concentrate on emotional pain and better to
just get on with everything. You also are a
down to earth type of person and think before
you act. Impulsive people may annoy you
    somewhat.

    rest” -Mark Twain

Are there any techno big bands?

I’m talking about 5, 10, 15, 20 DJs on a stage each with their own set up spinning simultaneously. I’m thinking they could each have their own focus like drums or melodic or backing. Maybe have 2 DJs for each “part” so they can trade and line stuff up. Would you need a director to cue and organize such a bunch?

    Floor repairs coming

I got the floor heater completely disconnected this weekend. I will say that it is very sturdy and well made. The floor guy is going to come by today to remove it so he can see what he needs to do to patch the floor which saves me from finding someone to help lift it out.

We also removes all the tacks and nails from Nicole’s room so now it’s just a wood floor waiting for repair and finishing. Tonight we’ll pull the carpet out of the master bedroom and all the tacks so that can be investigated for damage.
