Saturday morning, being inspired by my co-worker, Henry, who is making Passover dinner today, and fleagirl’s mad preparation, I decided I wanted a Passover meal. Not a full seder, just the food. since a seder requires too much planning.

So I found this recipe for a brisket. However I skipped the next day park and I used the cooking time and temperature from another book so 300 for 3 hours.

Nicole made potatoes with italian spices.

I made charoset with my mom’s recipe.

And for dessert, I made matzah brickle. That same recipe is all over the net so it makes it easy to find should you use it.

Oh yeah, I didn’t know what I was doing but I ground up some horseraddish and added some lemon juice. It turns out I’m supposed to add vinegar and probably more than I did of the lemon juice. My dad suggests about 1 cup per pound.

Julie & Fish came over to join in the meal and they brought strawberries and cream. Good meal!

Thursday, for the first time at my new job, I actually started really liking my project. I think the last thing fell into place that was confusing to me and now it all feels pretty good!

More of a mental tired right now but the physical will come. Too much code to get working by tomorrow night.

She saw a doctor to make sure she didn’t have a concussion or any serious internal problems and the doctor said she has some torn muscles around the joint in her shoulder and some bruising on her rib cage. So it’s just a matter of waiting for her body to fix itself! boing!

We’re still waiting to hear about car status.

Well we think so anyway. The driver’s side is smashed up really well and the wheel is bent slightly and the leaking from the engine. Today we’ll contact the insurance company and see what they want us to do. On the bright side now we probably don’t have to worry about trying to sell it.

Nicole is doing ok, but the left side of her body hurts.

Nicole was visiting her family in Sacramento today (that’s not the suck part) and as she was starting her way home she got in an accident! She’s ok but has some pain (not surprising). I’m waiting to hear what she wants me to do as she’s going to attempt to drive it to her brother’s house.

I hope this is as bad as it is and that she hasn’t had anything seriously injured. I hope I hope.

Update: They got the car to her brother’s house. It’s leaking coolant and oil. I’m going to get her now and we’ll deal with it more tomorrow.

For having a great birthday party, and for getting me Ultra Marathon Man and getting me Justin Bua’s Piano Man

I did a “good enough for now” job on the front yard. About 30 minutes of weed wacking and 30 minutes of clean up. However I think something got lodged in my sinuses since they are all in a bad state right now despite allergy meds.

I rode the whole way home without having to stop, except for at 7th Ave and Capitola Road. And only slight slowing at two other lights. I hit all the other lights and traffic was light. Pretty much full throttle all the way which means 25mph on the flats, 20mph up hills, and 30 mph down hills. boingboingboingboingboing!

I had this $2 off coupon for Streetlight so I decided to see if they had a CD I wanted. They had 2, Five Iron Frenzy’s “The End is Near/Here”, and Kermit Ruffins with the Rebirth Brass Band “Throwback.”

On the down side to this little excursion, there were no Original Cinn for me to get for Nicole. Very sad.
