More on the tires

Ever since I got a new tube filled with EZ-Seal I not only haven’t had a flat tire, but I haven’t even lost any air. That’s over a week with no pressure loss at all! Before I had to add air every other day.

I also drilled two 1/4″ holes and installed my license plate. Note to anyone doing this, don’t get the security pack for license attachment, the nute are limited in how much they can screw on. I suppose you can use regular nuts with the security bolts (it’s probably what I’m going to do). Right now it’s on and flaps a bit which makes a noise similar to the uncovering an artifact noise in Jewel Quest on Yahoo Games.

Dar’s room is done

With the painting that is. Nicole and and I finished the second coat last night. This morning I cleared out all the stuff on the floor of the room so the carpet guys have no obstructions when they arrive sometime this morning. Hopefully the paint and carpet don’t clash.

Oh yeah. Sill have to do the shelf in the closet.

First coat done

Last night after the grocery store and dinner and laundry I started on painting Darlene’s room. It looks much better after a first coat. It will definitely need a second coat since the pink is still showing, and in a few spots the light blue that it was before the pink.

I didn’t take off the molding because it was stubborn and I had more painting to do.

Too much work, not enough working out

I’m nearing a big deadline on a project right now so I’m not really working out so much. I’m still getting some exercise from working around the house when I get home but nothing too strenuous overall. I’ve cut back how much I’m eating to compensate, so now about 14 zone blocks.

Yay, it’s done!

Yesterday I weed-wacked the back yard (front is this week), washed down the walls in Darlene’s room and prepped it for painting, and did a few loads of laundry. A good arm work-out but I’m glad it’s done.

The Star Wars project

So I’m trying to transfer some other laser discs to dvd to get practice for when I try with Star Wars. In anticipation of this I got a newer better video capture card, I got Adobe Premiere Pro, I upgraded to Windows XP so I could run Premiere Pro. There’s a lot behind this.

Premiere is complicated enough that it comes with a little tutorial video. So I watched that and learned how I need to cut up the pieces of of video clips and put them together. I try it with Hero (not the kung-fu movie but the one with Duston Hoffman and Geena Davis) and get it all edited the way I want. Why edit a recording of a laser disc? Well there’s the part before the movie starts to cut off, the side transition to cut out of the middle, and the end after the credits to eliminate.

Anyway, it’s all together and I tell it to export it to MPEG2-DVD format. It starts and after a short while tells me there isn’t enough memory. Not enough memory? I know I only have a gigabyte but it should be swapping out to disk as necessary and I have about 180GB free. WTF?!

I think I might need a different program. Any suggestions?

A setback in Sphinx

I was playing Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy and saved my progress. After a few minutes I was tired and turned off the Gamecube and when I turned it back on I couldn’t get anywhere from where I saved. I check on-line and sure enough, it’s a glitch in the game that if that was your last save point you can’t continue the game from there and you have to start over.

One the one had it’s really a bummer that I have to start over. On the bright side, it’s a fun game and I’ll get to that point a lot faster the second time.

More birthday thanks!

Thanks to Julie & Fish for the gift certificate for Streetlight Records. I bought No Doubt’s “Everything in Time” and Duran Duran’s “Astronaut”. I don’t know what I’ll use the remainder for yet.

Thanks for Gerald & Julianne for the “Intellivision Lives” compilation for Gamecube. I haven’t had a chance to play it yet but I’m so looking forward to a good game of Sea Battle.

Thanks to Dan for lunch at Saturn on Friday also.

And very very big thanks for Darlene for her more than generous gift for mine and Nicole’s birthday combined. Someday we’ll get there!

Back on the exercise bike

Level 10 was going well. Then I hit 53 minutes and my legs decided they couldn’t keep up with the pace I wanted anymore. I should probably hold it at level 10 for awhile and start on the hand bike. That’s probably all about pain.
