I saw Aeon Flux the other day and it was bad in many ways, but the kind of bad that’s fun. The script was bad, most of the acting was bad, most of the ideas behind it was bad. What was good? It was clear a lot of work went into making the look and it looked good. Hand-feet are good. Charlize Theron looked good.
You’ll probably want a few beers before you see this.

Liana had Peter call me to offer insurance advice about my scooter accident. I forgot the specifics because I was running errands at the time but I called back for more specifics and put them to use and I was successful! I will be compensated for the day off work and my medical co-pay and for “pain & suffering.” Now I just need to get the lady to pay up for the scooter itself.

At work we have these little devices where you press a button and it gives you a code to type in. I don’t use the services that make use of that so I just press the button a few times a day. The thing that makes me feel it isn’t as secure as it should be is that the code is 6 digits ranging from 0 through 9 and only 6 times has there not been any duplicated numbers. I’ve had the entire thing made up of 2 digits more than I’ve had all digits unique.

I heard back from the insurance company of the door opening woman and they said that since her coverage was lapsed when the accident occured that wouldn’t give me anything. I didn’t really expect them to but I figured it was worth a shot. So now I have to try and get money directly from her. Any ideas on the best way to approach this?

“The Whole 9 Yards” was a fun movie so as I sat down to watch “The Whole 10 Yards” I was hoping for more of the same. Instead it’s mostly pretty boring. I didn’t care what happened to any of there characters and none could hold my attention except for those played by half of the leads, Amanda Peet and Bruce Willis.
It’s an entertaining enough movie to watch while you’re doing something else.

Not much videual has happened in the last week so I put it all here as a one week update. A lot of the work has been framing what needs to be framed and getting all the plumbing in and planning for electricity and such.
The kitchen has the openings framed to the size they need to be.
The bathroom has the shower, tub, and toilet areas in place.

So I went to the doctor on Thursday and he said internally everything was fine and to keep taking ibuprofen and icing my bruises. Then they bandaged every cut. I iced everything and rested and Friday morning my hips were feeling slightly better than the day before. My neck and shoulders were really tight though, showing their role in the landing. Saturday morning I was feeling pretty good, no muscle soreness, swelling down a lot on my hips, and it only hurt a little to go from sitting to standing and vice-versa. Today (Sunday), swelling is almost gone in my hips but they still have the lovely colors and I don’t have any pain, just minor discomfot when I stand or sit.
I’ve included hip pictures for those of you who don’t get ooked out.

I was riding home to meet the window guy so he could measure all the windows. I crossed the Cayuga intersection and then a door was open in front of me. I think I tried to swerve some, but I hit it and went down. I think I hit my left side first and then bounced to my right side since both my hips are bruised and the left side has more damage, scraped ankle and leg and a scraped and bruised elbow.
The right side I have a hole in my jeans and a scrape on my palm and a blood blister on my thumb. Also a spot scrape/bruise in the back of my right calf.
I didn’t hit my head at all and luckily I was across the street from the fire department so the paramedics were on scene right away. They didn’t find any evidence of internal injury or my spine. They gave me some adhesive bandages and checked my blood pressure which was normal, but a little high for me.
The CHP showed up and wrote up the accident with her at fault and took photos of everything.
My scooter is pretty munched up: torn seat, most of the plastic cracked or broken off, missing a mirror, the storage pucket is no longer mounted, but the core is still good and ridable.
Thanks to the cigarette store guy whoe picked up a lot of the pieces and taped on the ones that wouldn’t stay in place. He also gave me some more adhesive bandages.
Oh yeah. One pair of singing magnets are gone now. I saw one of them but didn’t see the second one and then forgot to get the one I saw before I left.

I saw Rent this weekend. I wasn’t super interested but I liked the song in the trailer so I went. I liked it all, the look, the characters, the music. The songs weren’t catchy enough so that they were constantly in my head afterwards, but that’s ok. The problem I had with it was I was never made to care about the characters so it ended up remaining at the entertaining level instead of going to the amazing level.
Since I’m talking about theatre-ish stuff, Nicole and I saw “Romance” by David Mamet for our anniversary. My dad was sick so my parents gave us their tickets. It was a short comedy about 75 minutes not including the intermission. The second act was fantastic, pretty much non-stop laughter. The first half popped the clutch on the starting line and was in danger of stalling. It started with rapid fire dialog without any context so it took awhile to catch up and it never really fully hit.
And not related to anything, here’s a song of the day.
